Many different cures currently exist that will cure the skin affliction that many suffer from known as acne. Furthermore, it is important to know that all of the different cures out there are equal to each other and no one cure stands above the rest. The are other and more efficient ways and clearing up this skin condition and they are taking supplements, taking good care of your skin, and living a healthy lifestyle.

This article is going to discuss the previously mentioned natural methods that will help prevent and treat acne. Any surgical procedures, medications, or other medical practices to relieve acne, are talked about in other articles.

Keeping Skin Healthy

If you are a person that has had acne in the past, one of the best ways of resolving any further affliction is to take good care of your skin. This does not mean applying an array of various beauty products but rather keeping your skin very clean. Things like dust, grime, dirt, and bacteria, can clog up the pores and cause acne to appear.

- By using a non-comedogenic or hypoallergenic bath product with lukewarm water you can help keep you pores clean and prevent acne from happening. However, you should stay away from using loofahs, scrubs, or wash clothes, to remove any dirt since the cleanser is more than enough. Once you are finished washing simply pat dry the skin and air dry the hair since heat can encourage an onset of acne.

- Wear soft cotton clothes and other breathable fabrics in just the right sizes so as to lessen the friction between the skin and the clothes, thus, lessening the chances for body acne.

Something that you will never want to do is to touch your acne or any other infected other with dirty hands or objects where bacteria might be present. Doing this may aggravate and encourage acne to appear.

Using Nutritional Supplements

The skin must also be nourished from the inside. A healthy diet is obviously critical for this purpose but supplementation is also essential. This is because the foods in the diet cannot adequately provide for the necessary anti-acne nutrients, both in terms of quality and quantity.

Taking these supplements will do three very good things for your body. To start off with, it will help the body's immune system fight the bacteria and germs that causes acne. Second, it will lower the inflammation on a cellular level. Thirdly, it helps heal the skin faster once your acne is cured.

- Fish oils containing healthy fats

- CoQ10 for collagen production

- Ascorbic acid for connective tissue health

- Probiotics for better absorption of skin-friendly nutrients

- Multivitamins to supply the necessary antioxidants

Making Changes In Your Lifestyle

How you live your life will also effect prevention, treatment, and formation of acne. A lot of stress can cause hormonal imbalances in individuals, which can result in acne. Therefore, keep your stress levels down and you will also prevent acne. Consuming substances such as nicotine or alcohol is not only bad for you health but can even bring about acne.

The prevention and treatment of acne are within the individual's control. Medications, herbs and other alternative methods of treatment are complementary to the lifestyle followed by the individual with a history of acne.
