Acne is a Widespread Problem -- But Only in the West. What Should That Tell Us?

By James London Devasher

As you stand in front of your mirror, staring at an outbreak of pimples it may feel like you are the only one in the world to have it so bad.

But, you are not alone.

It is estimated that over 90% of all adolescents and almost 25% of all adults in western counties are acne sufferers. It is also true that acne affects males and females worldwide, regardless of nationality. But if you dig a little deeper some startling facts and trends start to emerge.

For instance --

Incidence of Acne in Western Countries Adolescents: 79% to 95% Older than 25: 40% to 54% Middle Aged: 3% to 12%

Incidence of acne in underdeveloped countries: often 0%

(*Cordain L. Acne vulgaris: a disease of Western civilization. Arch Dermatol. 2002 Dec;138(12):1584-90.)

You Are What You Eat

Could it be that chocolate really does cause pimples? Or how about oily foods? Do French fries bring on the acne?

The latest reports show that although scientific evidence is not 100% accurate in this area, individual foods do not directly cause acne but your overall diet does play a role.

Multiple studies of people living on their traditional native diets - almost all of which are low fat-diets, based on starches, vegetables, and fruits - have found these people have little or no acne.

When these healthy people start eating the traditional Western diet, acne becomes an epidemic - as do the other diseases of modern civilization (obesity, heart disease, diabetes, prostate and breast cancer).

So it looks like your mother was right all along.

"Eat your vegetables", she would say when you were little. As important as it was then, it is even more important now that you are older. Not only do vegetables and fruits help promote a healthy body, but they are vitally important to your skin.

Eating vegetables and drinking vegetable juice can actually help keep your skin free from acne. Most of us so not eat near enough vegetables and seldom drink vegetable juices. It's no wonder we get acne.

Get Rid Of Acne Without Proactive

By David King

I suffered from acne for over 5 years and tried anything and everything to get rid of my acne but none of the acne treatments seemed to work for me. I tried clean and clear, clearasil, proactiv and a whole lot more. What I found out eventually was that none of these products would ever work because the only thing that they did was treat the symptom, of the acne itself... it didn't treat and cure the root cause of the acne in order to fully and completely fix the problem for good. It was basically a band-aid for an internal problem.

When I discovered this it made a lot of sense to me and I started changing my approach and the way I treated my acne and skin overall. I started learning about natural approaches to curing and treating acne and they made much more sense. Thankfully to my surprise I started to try some of these at home acne healing methods and some of them worked! I was stunned that I was beginning to see progress because that rarely ever happend using traditional acne products.

I started learning more and more, and documenting and saving everything that I did so that I could fully and completely erase my acne for good. And in a very short period of time I cleared up my acne for good and it hasn't been back since. I used to have acne on both of my cheeks and get it around my chin a little bit as well. I didn't have horrible severe acne but it was visible and embarrassing to deal with. I hated going to school with acne because I wanted to live a normal social life and not feel like everyone was looking at my face and skin and judging me.

One thing that I recommend that you begin doing is to drink more pure water each and every day. This is very important if you want to clear up your acne quickly and keep it away for good. You want to start drinking more water instead of other drinks like soda, coffee and energy drinks. You should drink 50% of your body weight in ounces of water each day to stay hydrated and this will help with clearing up your skin as well.

The next thing I recommend that you do is to stop using proactiv, clearasil, clean and clear, skin id or any other name brand large skin care acne company that is not natural. These products do not and will not work, they are low quality and they also negatively effect your health. I recommend that you use 100% natural and organic skin care products because these will not only do a much better job now but they will keep your skin clear and your body healthier now and in the long run as well.

Stamp Out Acne For Good -- Just Follow These Easy Steps

By James London Devasher

To stamp out acne you must get to the root cause. Lotions and creams will never do it. But you can stamp out acne by making some simple changes in your lifestyle.

Most people with acne attempt to treat their irritated skin with external face washes, soaps, lotions and treatments. However, the best way to stamp out acne is by changing your diet and getting rid of acne-causing ingredients such as fried foods.

Healthy Foods Promote Healthy Skin

A healthful diet rich in natural whole foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans is the first recommendation for treating acne. Foods containing trans-fatty acids, such as milk, milk products, margarine, shortening and other synthetically hydrogenated vegetable oils, as well as fried foods, should be avoided.

It seems the prevalence of acne in the United States is built into the typical American diet. Americans tend to eat fried foods in large quantities, usually cooked in the most harmful of fats and oils. Not all fats are bad, but the fats that typical Americans eat make them more prone to develop acne and skin problems, such as what's in ice cream, cheese, bacon, and milk.

Why Creams and Lotions Do Not Work

Acne cannot really be treated using creams and soaps because the root of the condition lies beneath the skin. Pimples and blemishes are caused by bacteria and other irritants embedded underneath the skin's oil glands and hair follicles, which are generally caused as a result of improper hygiene and poor diet - such as too much processed, fatty, fried and sugary foods.

A skin-healthy diet emphasizes raw and lightly cooked vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables that contain valuable trace minerals and are rich in fiber. Fresh green vegetables are essential. Also include in your diet lean protein sources and complex carbohydrates, such as rice, whole-grain bread, and potatoes. These fiber-rich foods help ensure a clean gastrointestinal tract, which is especially important in the management of acne.

Eat three healthy meals daily to provide important nutrients and to decrease your appetite for sugary or greasy fried foods. Foods rich in vitamin A, like apricots, watermelon, and broccoli, as well as foods like lean beef, nuts, beans and whole grains that are rich in zinc can also be helpful in reducing acne breakouts. It's also imperative to drink lots of water to help flush the toxins out that contribute to breakouts.

Will Taking Vitamins Help Me Prevent Acne? Of Course!

By James London Devasher

There have been reports lately about vitamin and acne treatments.

Some reports claim that vitamins cause acne.

Sure, that could be the case.

But an overall healthy lifestyle requires you to have a certain amount of vitamins in your diet. And a healthy lifestyle and eating habits are the BEST way to fight acne.

So I think it's more likely that a Vitamin and Acne Treatment program can help CURE acne -- not cause it.

Acne Fighting Vitamins

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is an antioxidant. Antioxidants help to rid the body of toxins. It also strengthens the protective tissues of the skin. It is also necessary for the maintenance and repair of the skin and mucous membranes.

Does this sound like something that CAUSES acne?

Get real. In fact, it is thought by some that low vitamin A levels can cause acne.

Vitamin B Complex

The many B vitamins help to maintain healthy skin tone.

Did you know that stress is thought to be a major cause of acne breakouts?

B Vitamins are known to lower stress levels.

The vitamins in the B complex are Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin (Nicotinic Acid, Niacinamide), Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine and Cyanocobalamin. Each of these vitamins has a very specific role in promoting healthy skin. Not to mention overall health.

You can read more about each individual B Vitamin and how they work on our site - Vitamin and Acne Treatments (see below)

Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids

Vitamin C is the "super vitamin". It is a powerful antioxidant that is required for at least 300 metabolic functions in the body -- including tissue (skin) growth and repair. Vitamin C also can protect against infection (pimples.)

Bioflavanoids (isn't that fun to say? Try it - "Bioflavanoids" ;) also have an antibacterial effect (pimples, again.)

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is another antioxidant (see a theme here?) that helps in healing and tissue (skin, again) repair. It helps prevent damage to your skin cells by free radicals.

Taking a potent multi-vitamin with minerals will help to supplement your daily intake and is a good start to your vitamin and acne treatment.

Dealing With Face Acne And Cures

By David King

Face acne is one of the most difficult and toughest forms of acne to deal with. People see your acne when you are walking down the street and you cannot hide it. The great thing though is that you can begin to cure your acne internally and finally start to have clear skin again with the acne erasing secrets system. I used it to get rid of all my acne and you can too.

To quickly share a little bit of my story with you you should know that I struggled with acne for about 5 years on and off and I always got frustrated at the way my skin looked because my acne wouldn't seem to go away no matter what acne product I used. I changed skin care products often and always bought and tried new things but never saw the lasting clear skin and positive results that I wanted.

I learned quite a few big lessons that helped me get rid of my acne and in this article I will share a few of them as I can but also remember to visit my site at the end of this article because you can learn the rest of them there and be sure to join my newsletter which will walk you through it step-by-step. The first big lesson that I learned was that most people who have acne are dehydrated. Most people are dehydrated overall and don't drink enough water but if you have acne this almost guarantee's that.

Water does a few things in the body, one of the main things that it does is cleanses your body and gives your internal organs a shower. This cleanses all the toxins internally and allows for your body to basically become purified and more efficient with the nutrients. Another thing that water does is simply feed your body. Our bodies are about 70% water and without this water each day we would die fairly quickly, so it is very important to stay hydrated just from the fact that it is an important nutrient that our body needs. Another thing that water does is bring nutrients to your skin cells. When you have acne it is having a hard time getting the nutrition it needs to heal and create new skin cells that are healthy. When you increase your water intake you flush your body of toxins and give it the nutrition it needs to keep your skin healthy which begins to clear up your skin and acne.

Acne Treatments That Work Quickly

By David King

Acne can be an extremely costly skin condition to fix and it can also be an embarrassing issue to deal with in public. I know this because I had acne for 5 years and I hated every minute of it. I wanted to get rid of my acne as soon as possible and would have done anything to get rid of it. Thankfully because I wanted to get rid of my acne bad enough I finally started doing some research and learning what I could do in order to get rid of my acne naturally from home.

Nothing i was trying, including proactiv or any other skin care products worked or even helped at all. I was frustrated and willing to try almost anything to get results but nothing was working for me. I found out that proactiv was unhealthy for my skin and stopped using it immediately because it contained a dangerous and a unhealthy chemical called benzoyl peroxide. I also knew that accutane and similar acne drugs were harmful because my brother was born with a birth defect because of a drug so I definitely was not going to use any of them.

This caused me to learn and do research on my own into how i could naturally cure acne from home. I realized that I could cure my acne with at home acne remedies if i just stayed committed and tried out what I had learned. I researched, learned and read a ton of information and finally started to see some progress until I finally cleared my skin up.

I also learned that I needed to drink more clean water because when you have acne you are most likely dehydrated. Water does quite a few good things for your skin, one of the first one's being that it cleanses your skin and helps flush toxins out of your body that would normally cause acne and other breakouts on your skin. Water also plays another very important function in your body, it carries nutrients such as vitamins and minerals to your cells as well.

The next thing that I recommend that you begin to do is to watch your diet more and focus on eating healthier foods. You should be eating plenty of organic raw fruits and vegetables each day. These give your body the nutrition that it needs to heal your skin and help new skin cells grow quicker.

If you are ready to cure your acne from home and use a safe acne treatment go to my website below and discover what I used to cure my acne from home.

Can Birth Control Help Acne Problems

By Kevin Nelson

Birth control pills have long been claimed as having a positive effect on skin and acne. While these contraceptive products can clear up acne so well, they have become a staple item among many dermatologists. Keep in mind, though, that certain individuals may have the opposite reaction to birth control, with some people developing acne while taking oral contraceptives.

Usually, the dermatologist and the patient must work hand in hand to determine if the skin will benefit from birth control pills. Since these oral contraceptives can easily be withdrawn once adverse effects are observed, the patient will have little to worry about the long-term impact. By the way, the adverse effects of birth control pills on the skin include extreme sun sensitivity and dark patches on the skin (melasma).

How Birth Control Pills Work

Oral contraceptives are often the last resort in anti-acne medications because of the abovementioned possible side effects. This is with the assumption, of course, that the individual is not already taking birth control pills.

Why are birth control pills so effective? Since acne is caused by hormonal issues, caused by combined hormonal imbalance and environmental factors, the skin will break out with pimples. Birth control pills stimulate oil glands and release sebum with the androgen hormone. This can prevent and ultimately eliminate acne problems.

Depending on the person, a dermatologist might recommend one birth control pill, or a combination of pills to help control acne problems. Most frequently prescribed for acne are Diane-35, Estrostrep and Ortho Tri-Cyclen.

Who Are the Best Candidates?

Patients who make the best candidates for oral contraceptives for treatment of acne include:

- Sexually active women looking for other forms of birth control methods aside from Depo-provera and condoms

- Women experiencing other imbalances in hormones, such as irregular periods.

- Individuals receiving an Accutane prescription.

Often, patients experience relief of acne problems within a few weeks. It is essential that you be patient while waiting on the positive effects of birth control for acne.

Many dermatologists will prescribe birth control that has a combination of estrogen/progestin. This is due to taking too much estrogen actually leads to acne problems, while too much progestin results in male hormonal results. Levels of testosterone normal in men can cause problems for women, including acne and excess hair growth.

Remember that not everyone will experience positive results form using oral contraceptives to combat acne. It is important to work with your doctor and use birth control on an individual basis. Just because it works for one patients it may not be right for you. Dermatologists are the best people to consult to find out whether it will work for you.

Acne Scars - How to Get Rid of Them

By Kevin Nelson

Nearly everyone would agree that acne scars are almost as bad as acne itself if you had to come up with a list of unwelcome and unwanted skin conditions. So it's no surprise that acne scar sufferers will want to remove any and all signs of acne, including its scars it often leaves, in order to enjoy clear, smooth, flawless skin once again.

Contrary to what some believe, acne scars can be prevented and removed using natural or medical solutions. With that said, this process should ideally begin even before acne has healed because the more aggressive interventions are placed on the acne, the more severe the scarring will be, as is apparent with those who frequently pop their pimples.

Natural Acne Scar Treatments

Natural remedies are of probably going to be your first line of defense, both for preventing scars and for removing them. Medical solutions should are often only considered for serious scarring, since medical methods are more aggressive, invasive, and considerably more expensive.

The first preventative step is to stop popping and squeezing your pimples, as this only serves to make the acne worse. Instead of popping your pimples, you should allow your body and the medications to do their jobs. If possible, you should also avoid using makeup on the affected area until your acne clears up.

In cases where acne has healed and only left mild scarring, many over-the-counter remedies will be effective at removing the scars. In severe cases however, where a sufferer has been left with deep pockmark scarring, medical methods such as those mentioned below, will usually be required.

There are also many herbal remedies capable of erasing acne scars and the resultant skin discoloration. You'll find rosehip seed oil, aloe vera gel, olive oil, lavender oil, honey, rose water and sandalwood, are all commonly recommended by herbalists. These substances should be used by massaging them gently into the affected areas, and then rinsing the areas with fresh lukewarm water.

Medical Acne Scar Removal

Following severe acne outbreaks, there are usually some scars that will not respond to the natural methods mentioned above. Pockmarks, crater type scars, and even dark patches on the skin are best removed by means of medical methods even though these can be noticeably more expensive than the natural methods. After all, if it means you can be free of scars, then it justifies the costs involved.

- Dermal fillers are used to fill in the affected area under the skin, thus, filling or stretching the skin. The scars then become less noticeable with the added benefit that wrinkles, deep creases and fine lines can also be erased from the face. These soft tissue fillers are only temporary so repeated sessions must be made for the acne scars to become less visible.

- Microdermabrasion involves blowing micro-crystals into the skin, which will then be used to polish off the topmost skin layer. Microdermabrasion can significantly improve one's appearance, but several treatment sessions are necessary.

- Dermabrasion is usually applied on the severe acne scars. The skin's top layer is removed with a handheld device with the result being that the surface scars are totally removed while the deeper scars are less noticeable.

- Laser therapy is not yet as effective at removing scars, but with so many advances in technology, it does hold a lot of promise.

In the most severe cases, where none of the above treatment work, a dermatologist will usually recommend surgery, in which case skin grafts will be used to cover the scars. The thing to remember when it comes to choosing a treatment option is that you should follow the advice of an experienced dermatologist.

Exposing Acne Treatments That Work

By David King

Acne has become a big problem in north america and the world too in recent years because of the unhealthy and imbalanced diets. Many years ago acne was not a problem like it is today because people ate healthier and more balanced nutritious diets. When your skin is healthy your body is healthy so in order to get rid of acne we need to help you become healthier so that your skin can clear up and become healthier as well.

One of the first things that you need to begin doing if you have acne is to drink more water. Water is something that regulates your skin, it keeps it hydrated and it keeps it clear and this is something that no other drink can do. This will allow you to keep your skin moisturized and hydrated and it also cleanses toxins from the body that often try to escape the skin. Water also carries nutrients to the cells in your body and this includes your skin cells.

You should drink 50% of your body weight in ounces of water each day in order to stay hydrated and in order to keep your skin clear. If you live in a warm climate or exercise then you should be drinking even more water. Staying hydrated is not only very important to your overall health but it is important to your skin staying clear as well. I recommend that you drink spring or purified water instead of tap water because spring or purified water is much healthier and tap water has been found to contain things like metals, fluoride, chlorine and even traces of pharmaceutical drugs too so in my opinion it's not really safe drinking water anymore.

The next thing I recommend you do is watch what you eat along with what you drink. Now that you are drinking more water I recommend replacing unhealthy drinks such as soda and energy drinks with water because these drinks dehydrate you whereas water does not. I also recommend that you eat more organic raw fruits and vegetables every day. By eating raw organic fruits and vegetables you give your body the nutrition that it was previously lacking. When your body get's the nutrition it needs your skin recovers and heals faster.

There are many more methods and acne treatments that I can share with you so please go below and visit my website below and join my newsletter if you are finally ready to get rid of your acne for good!

Take care and have a great day!

Say Good-bye to Acne with these Effective Home Remedies

By Bill Iser

Nobody likes acne and wants to find the most effective treatments for when they have a breakout. The fact is, even though it may be making you self conscious, others are probably not nearly as focused on your acne as you are. That doesn't mean you should put up with it, though, so give these acne treatments a try.

Using an exfoliant, a mixture applied to the skin to get rid of dead skin cells, can help clear up acne. Blackheads are caused by your pores getting clogged by oil and dead cells so using an exfoliant daily helps keep the pores clear. Red pimples form when blackheads become inflamed. So using an exfoliant can help to stop this problem from spreading. You can find exfoliating products at the store or you can make one at home. Apply a mixture of oatmeal, molasses, and olive oil to your skin. Keeping your face clean between treatments will also help clear up your acne. You could help cure your acne by taking certain vitamins and supplements. Acne can be caused by nutritional deficiencies, and if you can correct this, you can get rid of your acne. An important vitamin to take for acne is vitamin A, which can be found in carrots and other foods. Zinc, which has antibacterial properties, is another one. Many topical acne products use zinc, but you also need to be sure you're getting enough in your diet, so it's a good idea to take a zinc supplement. Chronium can also be very helpful for skin conditions such as acne. Meeting all of your nutritional requirements is important as is avoiding unhealthy foods that can make your acne worse.

Harsh chemicals that can contribute to the problem should be avoided along with washing your face regularly. Try to use unscented and natural soaps. Because the harsh chemicals in makeup, cologne, and perfumes can cause bad reactions to your skin, they should be used sparingly if at all. It may be a good idea to avoid makeup entirely when dealing with an acne problem. Keeping your skin clean and avoiding harmful chemicals will help your acne clear up faster.

Garlic is a powerful remedy for many conditions, and it can be used to treat acne naturally. For treating acne natural, garlic's anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties make it one of the best substances to use. Crush garlic cloves use a garlic press or a mortar and pestle, then apply it to your face.

While acne can be annoying, you don't need to let it distress you too much. It's something many people go through, even as adults, and there are ways to treat it. Different treatments will work for different people, so give these treatments a try to see if they will be the ones to help you.

Natural Acne Treatments That Work

By Kevin Nelson

In mild cases of acne, natural remedies are as effective as medical and surgical procedures. There are also the added benefits of the natural acne treatments as being more affordable, more doable and gentler on the skin. Indeed, all dermatologists will recommend to their patients to adopt these natural remedies in order to prevent severe acne breakouts, which preclude having to avail of the medical methods.

Nutritional Supplements Help Your Body Fight Off Acne

Yes, the skin needs all the nutrients it can have from a proper diet and nutritional supplementation program to keep itself healthy. Thus, acne-prone individuals are advised to eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains to nourish the skin and, thus, keep acne at bay. This is not to say that people who have acne follow unhealthy diets only that a healthy diet will go a long way toward making the skin healthy.

Generally a balanced diet should be enough to keep your skin healthy but there are some people who have diseases and lifestyle choices that prevent them from eating certain things. Therefore, nutritional supplements are the best route to take. Many skin experts agree. You need 2,000mg of fish oils, 1,000mg of ascorbic acid, 50mg of CoQ10 and one good capsule of a multivitamin on a daily basis.

The results received will vary between every person even though the average results are positive ones. However, even once the acne has cleared up, it is important to make sure that acne management is still taking place by keeping up with a balanced diet and a good supplement program.

Herbal Formulas

Herbs can also be used to treat acne outbreaks. However, apply the following herbal formulations with caution since an individual may have allergies to the plant, thus, exacerbating the acne.

- You can apply garlic paste on the acne in order to lessen the amount of bacterial infection you are dealing with.

- You can apply honey to the skin overnight and then rinse it off with warm water the next day.

- Lemon, which contains a beneficial fruit acid known as glycolic acid, can be gently rubbed on the affected area to exfoliate the skin of its excess dirt, dust and grime.

- Using oatmeal masks applied to the face will stimulate skin health. Powered raw oatmeal works as well. Simply pour two cups of oatmeal into the grinder and then pour it into your bath water.

There are also some folk remedies that involve mixing mint leaves and toothpaste. However, you are going to want to speak to your dermatologist in order to be careful of allergens.

Healthy Living

It is important to remember that a healthy lifestyle is a key component of the management of acne. Remember that a lot of acne is a part of hormonal imbalances are a part of acne problems. Therefore, you will want to think about taking up the following lifestyle choices in order to maintain a healthy hormonal balance

- Getting a good night of sleep

- Stress management techniques such as small breaks during the day, deep breathing and proper medication.

- Avoid cigarette smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages since these substances make the body go haywire and, with it, the hormones

With these thoughts in mind, an acne-prone individual is better able to manage his skin condition via natural means.

How to Prevent Acne Vulgaris Before It Starts

By Ben Paul

Acne vulgaris is a big phrase for a little infection. You will find it carries all the signs of the abnormal skin condition it is like whiteheads, blackhead, and yes, it causes pimples and zits. Don't let the name scare you though, after all there is no pimple that cannot be treated or controlled with the right antidote.

You will start developing some uncomfortable and sometimes annoying sores because of clogged pores. Clogged plugs usually as a result of dirt and oils on the skin, and they can either be black or white and that is why they are called whitehead and blackhead. Part treatment of pimples and zits is knowing how and why you got it.

Young adults are more susceptible to getting pimples and zits, but grownups can have them too. The face, arms, shoulders, and legs are few areas of the body where pimples often show up. There are lots of reasons why people get acne, and they include sweating, oily cosmetics, humidity and others. There has always been this believes that certain foods like chocolate and nuts are the reasons why people get zits, but it is not entirely true.

Trying to pick a zit when it becomes inflamed is not a good idea; when you pick it, the infection inside the pore could spread and make the pimples wide spread. Washing the face or the affected area is the best way to handle this situation. You can literally treat most zits by just washing the skin with mild soap few times are day. Wearing only water based make-ups that has no oil is another way to alleviate this problem; as a matter of fact, oil is the biggest causes of pimples.

Topical creams are one of the better treatments for this condition and there are found pretty much everywhere on the market. Creams that contains salicylic acid, or benzoyl peroxide are non- prescription types and can be purchased easily over the counter. They have very strong active ingredients and they work by drying up the oils on the skin, or by killing the bacteria outright. Because these products can dry and even peel your skins, it will be unsafe for those with sensitive skin.

If you have severe case of acne vulgaris it is advisable to see your physician and see if he or she can prescribe something more powerful for you. Top of the line antibiotics or topical cream are generally preferred in such severe situation. Luckily with most of these conditions, they don't last; most clears up within one or couple weeks.

Natural Acne Cures: Skin B5 And Acne Free In 3 Days

By Ashley Davis

There are 2 kinds of Natural Acne Treatment that I do recommend trying for anyone who suffers from acne problems.

The 1st is "SkinB5 Vitamin B5 Based Acne Cure" which slows down acne internally by slowing down the overproduction of oil within the body. This is a completely different method than the applied acne products you can find for sale at drug stores.

It's understandable that you might be a bit suspicious of a method which is entirely from the "normal" methods that you are used to but if you think about it you will see that it only really makes any sense to try a different approach. The reason for this is that those topical acne treatments simply do not do anything! So why continue using something that has already been proven not to work time and time again?

It's absolutely in the best interest of the companies that make millions and billions of dollars with topical acne treatments for their customers to continue to have pimples. If their customers acne problems are cured then they lose a customer! They want you to keep on "treating" your pimple problems with their product that never really solves the cause of the problem so they can keep making money.

The 2nd acne cure method that I will suggest is called "Acne Free In 3 Days" and it's a guidebook on how to get rid of your acne problems for good in just 3 days (as the title makes pretty obvious.)

This guide can't be purchased in local stores, it's only able to be downloaded off of the web. This is actually a good thing since it means it can be ordered downloaded immediately so you can begin following its step by step process right away.

While it would certainly be a violation of copyright for me to give you the details of what is in the Acne Free In 3 Days guide, I can tell you that it uses natural techniques for getting rid of acne and that it is safe to try out.

How to Get Rid of an Acne Cyst

By Kevin Nelson

It is very uncommon for cysts to form during a normal acne case. However, whenever these cysts or abnormal formations of the skin structure occur, it should be of great concern to your dermatologist and you. Cystic acne is a severe form of acne and can grow into another aggressive type of acne known as acne conglobata. That is why it is extremely important to stop mild acne in its tracks so that it does not progress into one of the more severe types of acne outbreaks many people are faced with.

Symptoms That Can Be Very Painful

The cysts in acne are not actual cysts in the medical sense of the word. Instead, these cysts are extremely large, tender and inflamed pimples that may or may not be filled with puss. Unfortunately, many cysts can occur on the face, neck, scalp, chest, back and shoulders instead of being just isolated cases.

Even with only one cyst on your body it can be very painful and may even cause you to be tempted to pop the pimple. However, this is definitely something you should avoid doing since the bacteria present on your hands can make your acne condition worse by popping it. If the cysts needs to be drained it will need to be done in a sterile environment like at your doctors office.

Also, popping the cyst on your own can lead to deeper acne scars than had the pimple been left alone. Dermatologists, on the other hand, have medical means to lessen the inflammation including cortisone injections.

There Are Many Effective Treatments

Luckily, there are numerous ways to treat cystic acne. Because this condition is a bacterial infection, dermatologists will either use surgical procedures or prescribe oral antibiotics. These treatments reduce or remove the cysts present on your body, normally in 3-5 days.

- Oral antibiotics inhibit and eventually eliminate the formation and growth of acne cysts. Their main action is against a specific type of bacteria in the skin, which contributes to the inflammation of the acne. Doctors usually start patients on high doses and then gradually taper off as the skin becomes clearer.

- Corticosteroid injections lessen the inflammation, help the skin tissues heal and shrink the cyst into manageable levels. The end result is often little to no acne scars left behind after the cyst has been removed.

- Birth control pills are also helpful in treating acne cysts although not everybody will benefit from these oral contraceptives. These pills work by inducing hormonal changes with a positive impact on the treatment for acne. Still, one must not place too much hope in oral contraceptives as these may have little effects on cystic acne in most people.

- Isotretinion (a.k.a. Accutane), will lower the amount of sebum on the surface of the skin. This will make it more difficult for acne to for on your body.

Surgery is often the last resort in cystic acne and yet it is also one of the most effective. The dermatologist drains and then surgically removes the cysts. Medications to aid in the healing will then be prescribed after the successful removal of the cysts on the face and body.

Blackhead and Whitehead Zits - Acne Vulgaris

By Ben Paul

When you here the name acne vulgaris you might think that it is some kind of epidemic or plaque, but it is really very minor skin infection. It is actually an abnormal skin condition with names like blackhead or whiteheads which are what caused zits and pimple. Pimple and zits are controllable and treatable, so don't let the big sounding name scare you.

You develop these annoying little sores when your pores become clogged with dirt and oils. These clogs are called plugs and they can be white or black, hence the name whitehead and blackhead. Knowing you have pimples is the easy part; now let us learn how and why.

Teenagers are more commonly know to suffer from pimples, but even adults can get them. Pimples usually show up on your face and shoulders and sometimes on your arms and legs. There are a lot of causes of acne including hormonal changes, some oily cosmetics, humidity and definitely sweating. Thankfully chocolate, nuts and other foods actually do not cause zits as people would have you believe.

Skin B5 And "Acne Free In 3 Days" Acne Treatments

By Ashley Davis

There are 2 kinds of Natural Acne Treatments that I do suggest trying for anyone who has acne issues.

The 1st is "SkinB5 Vitamin B5 Based Acne Cure" which stops acne internally by slowing down oil production inside the body. This is a totally different method than the topical acne products you can find for sale at stores such as Wal-Mart.

I understand that you might be a bit suspicious of an approach which is so different from the "normal" methods that you are used to but if you really think about it you will come to see that it only really makes any sense to try a different approach. The reason for this is that those applied acne treatments simply don't work! Why keep using products that have been shown not to work time and time again?

It is in the best interest of those corporations that make millions and billions of dollars with topical acne products for their "consumers" to keep on having acne problems. If your acne problem is cured then they lose you as a customer! They want you to keep on "treating" your acne with a product that never really solves the cause of the problem so they can keep taking your money.

The 2nd acne cure method that I recommend is called "Acne Free In 3 Days" and it's a guide on how to cure your acne for good in just 3 days (as its title makes quite clear.)

This is a guide that cannot be purchased in local stores, it is only able to be downloaded off of the internet. This is actually a good thing since it means it can be purchased and downloaded in minutes so you can begin following its process right now.

While it would be a copyright violation for me to tell you the details of what is in this guide, I can tell you that it contains natural techniques for stopping acne and that it is totally safe for you to try.

New Topical Products for Acne Scars: Explained

By Sandi Feris

For all to many acne sufferers the scars that remain long after the acne has gone are just one more curse. They certainly aren't as physically painful as the original acne infection was but these scars, can and often do last for an entire lifetime.

The good news though, is that treatments for all types of scarring have come a long way from earlier days when that market genre was dominated by fraudulent products. Creams and lotions that only worked to rid you of your money.

The real key to fading out all types of scars, is the production of collagen. It's what the skin and many other areas of the body are effectively repaired with after they suffer any type of injury. So the best of these new topical products function to increase its production.

Many of the older types of collagen creams of years past actually contained collagen. The fact is though that what they actually had in them was really just plain gelatin. You read that right! Did you know that gelatin is simply collagen boiled out of the bones of dead animals?

The fact is that none of these products worked in the least bit. You see if they did, so too could you build up your muscle mass by applying ground burger to your skin. Or, what about growing new hair on your scalp by rubbing cows hair on your head?

Rather today's more effective topical scar treatment systems function by employing vital nutrients like peptides and hyaluronic acid and what can best be described as collagen "triggers". Newly developed substances that actually tell your skin to produce collagen.

The fact is that these peptide matrices are a natural tool that your body uses when its skin cells have been damaged, or killed off. Picture them as the "bones" of collagen that remain after everything else has been removed by your skins system.

Now the great thing about it, is that these peptide matrices are in fact molecules that are small enough to bypass the skins outer protective epidermal layer. Once they do this, they function to "trick" your skins restorative system to start back up.

This technology is a huge step forward in the treatment of all types scar tissues, but be prepared to spend more for products that use it. You see, these unique peptide matrices are patented, so products that contain them tend to cost more.

How Do Birth Control Pills Help Treat Acne

By Kevin Nelson

Birth control pills do have an effect on the skin and, in consequence, on acne. On one hand, these oral contraceptives can help clear out acne so much so that these medications are a staple presence in the anti-acne arsenal of most dermatologists. On the other hand, birth control pills can also cause acne in certain susceptible individuals, which means that not everybody with acne issues will benefit from oral contraceptives.

Used as a last resort in an anti-acne regiment, birth control pills are reserved to use after other treatments have not worked. This is due in part to the potential side effects. This is also eliminating the patient using birth control pills prior to seeking acne treatment.

What makes birth control pills effective against acne? Acne is a hormonal issue, where the combined imbalances as well as environmental factors cause the skin to break out with large pimples. Birth control pills are responsible for the androgen hormone, which stimulates oil glands and releases sebum. This process can either prevent or eliminate acne.

Depending on the individual's case, dermatologists will recommend just one or a combination of birth control pills to control the acne breakout. The most commonly prescribed oral contraceptives are Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Estrostrep and Diane-35.

Who Are the Best Candidates?

Patients who make the best candidates for oral contraceptives for treatment of acne include:

- Sexually active women looking for other forms of birth control methods aside from Depo-provera and condoms

- Women who are experiencing other hormonal issues, such as irregular menstrual symptoms.

- Individuals receiving an Accutane prescription.

Often, patients experience relief of acne problems within a few weeks. It is essential that you be patient while waiting on the positive effects of birth control for acne.

Most doctors prescribe birth control pills that have a combination of estrogen and progestin. This is because taking too much estrogen may lead to acne problems, and too much progestin results in male hormone activity. Even normal levels of testosterone in men can cause acne problems in women. Excess hair may even appear, such as the chest and face.

Again, not everybody will benefit from an oral contraceptive regimen in the fight against acne. It is important to use birth control pills on an individual basis instead of assuming that just because it worked for Patient A, it will for Patients B and C. Dermatologists are the best professionals to determine whether it works for the individual or not.

For many people, the natural ways are the first line of defense in acne scar prevention and removal. The medical means are usually applied when the acne scars are stubborn and difficult to treat, since these methods are more aggressive, expensive and invasive.

The first preventative step is to stop popping and squeezing your pimples, as this only serves to make the acne worse. Instead of popping your pimples, you should allow your body and the medications to do their jobs. If possible, you should also avoid using makeup on the affected area until your acne clears up.

Once acne has healed, the scars can often be removed using basic over-the-counter remedies, providing of course the scarring is relatively mild. In cases where the scarring is severe, the medical options discussed below will need to be considered.

Herbal treatments can also work in many mild acne scars including discolorations. Most herbalists recommend using rosehip seed oil, aloe vera gel, olive oil, lavender oil, honey, rose water and sandalwood, among other things, on the affected area simply by gently massaging said substances and then washing off with lukewarm water.

Medical Acne Scar Removal Methods

- Laser therapy is frequently used, but it's not as effective as the abovementioned treatments. With that said, advances in technology means this treatment does have a lot of potential.

If none of the treatments mention above are able to deliver results, your doctor or dermatologist will more than likely recommend skin surgery. In that case, skin grafts will be used in order to conceal the scars.

Get Rid Of Acne Holistically From Home

By David King

Getting rid of acne & pimples can be a difficult thing to do and very frustrating when you have tried many different acne treatments and none of them seem to work. When you try all of these different acne face washes, acne creams you get frustrated because you feel that there is no cure for acne out there or someone is hiding it and it seems that no one wants to help you. I suffered from acne for over 5 years and it felt like I tried everything out there and I couldn't seem to find a solution. In this article I am going to share with you some acne home remedies that I used to get rid of my acne.

I am also going to share with you what not to do first because I know that they don't work when I tried them and it really sucks to waste your time and money while you still have acne. I will tell you this also because these videos will also help you understand which acne treatments to not even try out in the first place because of their dangerous and harmful ingredients which can cause health problems and side effects down the road.

One home remedy for acne that you can start doing right away is to use apple cider vinegar as an acne remedy. Apple cider vinegar is a liquid that cleanses and cleans your pores better than anything I have seen out there in my research. What you will want to do is simply take apple cider vinegar and put it into a small spray bottle. After you clean your face with a safe and natural face wash just spray apple cider vinegar on your skin and let it sit there. I leave it on without washing it off because I know that it's good to get it into my pores and blood stream because it will help cleanse and detox your body as well which is good for both clear skin and your health. If you want to though you can wash it off in about 30 minutes. Expect your skin to get red and for it to feel a little burn from this because it is strong and that's it's job, you can dilute it with water if it's too strong for you.

Another thing you can do to get rid of acne from home is to simply drink more water. Most people are dehydrated and that includes people with acne. I have found that if you have acne and you begin to hydrate you will begin to see a change in your skin tone and your skin will start to clear up quicker. Water acts as an internal shower and if you don't get enough water then your internal organs become stagnant and dirty and the things try to escape through your skin instead of your digestive tract.

These are just a few things that you can begin to do right away. I highly recommend that you stay away from dangerous acne treatments. Part of the reason that I write these articles is because my brother was born with a birth defect because of an acne drug called accutane. I recommend that you stay away from acne drugs and pharmaceuticals because I know they are dangerous and harmful to your body with all the side effects. There is always a better way to treat your acne that is natural and safe. I also recommend that people stay away from most traditional acne treatments because they contain ingredients that are not safe and will cause health problems as well. one of those ingredients that I recommend that you stay away from is benzoyl peroxide, you can hear what i have to say about that in the video below.

I hope that you learned something useful and beneficial in this article and put it to use. Please visit my website below and join the newsletter if you would like to learn how to cure your acne from home in 4 days just like I did!

Take care!

Getting Rid Of Acne Safely And Quickly

By David King

Acne can be a tough condition to have, it's hard to live a regular social life and have confidence in relationships and social circles when you have acne and pimples. There are many acne treatments and products but you have to watch which one's you are using because there are many acne treatments that are not safe and will cause harm to your health and body if used. I know this all too well because my brother was born with a birth defect because of an acne drug called accutane. My mom also had cancer years later and they found traces of accutane in her body during that time as well.

I have spent years and years and hundreds up on hundreds of dollars learning how to treat acne safely and naturally. I have not only spent time and money but I have also experimented on my own skin with many different natural remedies and methods. I even created a youtube channel called "Acne Erasing Secrets" for those looking to get rid of acne and have made more than 120 videos sharing my advice on how to get rid of acne and clear skin from home.

The first thing that you can begin to do right away when you have acne is to drink more water. Most people that have acne have it for several different reasons but one reason that seems to run through all the reasons is dehydration. Many people that have acne seem to be dehydrated and seem to not drink enough water. A good daily amount of water to drink is half of your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 120 pounds then you should drink 60 ounces of water every day.

The next thing that you can do is to watch what skin care and cosmetic products you use. I realized that there are many acne, skin care and cosmetic type of products out there and what I was using wasn't that beneficial to my health or my clear skin. I changed my shampoo, my face wash, my toothpaste and everything else that goes on my skin or body. You should only be using shampoo, soap, face wash and toothpaste that are natural. You should be able to swallow these products and be not have to call the poison control center right away. If you cannot swallow do not use them on your skin or in your body.

There are many other natural acne remedies and treatments for getting rid of acne safely, to learn more visit the website below!

Acne Treatments - Solutions for Getting Rid of Acne Scars

By John Smart

I didn't know anything about acne scar laser treatment to remove, blend, or diminish the pocks and other marks, then. It was the 1980s, and I was not all that focused on beauty (but rather on getting through graduate school, therapy, and three jobs); and I was ignorant about skin care innovations.

Acne scars are damaging to the ego and personality of an individual, and a lot of time and money has been invested in research to treat this problem. Acne scars are classified by size, shape and appearance they are identified as Icepick, Boxcar and Rolling.

They are also tagged as early or permanent on the basis of their duration. Early scars respond well to topical medications. Permanent scars require surgical intervention. Presently, scars are treated with the combination of topical skin care medications in tandem with carefully selected surgical and skin resurfacing procedures.

At least a half dozen surgical procedures are also performed to repair acne scars. Each has benefits and pitfalls and a surgeon will closely examine the patient's age, sex, medical history, skin type and type of scarring before agreeing to perform surgery.

Laser therapy. This technique can help clear up scars by killing bacteria and increase oxygen to the damaged skin. Lasers can burn away any excess sebum which will reduce the thick texture of the scar and make it less noticeable.

The emphasis honest practitioners of acne scar laser treatment offer, though, is that such treatment does not "cure" or magically remove all acne marks and blemishing. Rather, it improves the skin condition, diminishing though not completely removing.

Other details are equally important. Depending upon type of acne scar laser treatment, be prepared to accept the treatment as a kind of surgery. You might undergo sedation or anesthesia of some type or degree; you can expect to be in the outpatient treatment room for anywhere from fifteen to ninety minutes; and you will need anywhere from three days to three weeks to wait for the swelling to go down and the abrasions, redness, and/or oozing to stop completely so you can resume typical skin care.

I certainly didn't envision such a complicated process. Then again, I didn't come up with the idea all by myself, evidently. And besides, I am not a doctor, nor do I play one when writing.

Skin Care Tips - How to Care For Acne as an Adult

By John Smart

For many adults, what was thought of as a teenage affliction has continued well into their twenties and thirties. For other adults suffering from acne, the outbreaks did not start until they reached their twenties. The causes of adult acne vary and can be any one or a combination of the following conditions.

The many causes of adult acne and teen acne include hormone imbalance, diet, genetics, vitamin deficiency, stress, and more. The real explanation may be a complex mix of many of these factors. Since it is not know what causes pimples, it is important to focus on the proper treatment of acne.

Acne is often considered a hormonal disease or condition, meaning hormones are responsible for the maturing of the oil producing glands in our skin. Did you ever wonder why you never see acne on a young child? Young children do not have the hormones needed to mature the skin's oils. Once a person becomes and adult there are many things that can throw our hormones out of balance and in turn wreak havoc on our skin, among other things.

Both hormonal imbalance and fatty secretions, which can clog pores, are known contributors to acne outbreaks. Hormonal imbalances as a cause of adult acne primarily affect women. Imbalances that occur during a woman's menstrual cycle or as a result of pregnancy can lead to acne outbreaks. There are adult males who report that they have monthly acne episodes. While men obviously do not menstruate, it is believed that men may have hormonal cycles similar to women.

Benzoyl peroxide, the main ingredient in OTC acne treatments, does not have a negative effect on the skin first unlike other prescription acne treatments. This means you will not see a worsening of the skin before you see the improvement. Skin does not build up a tolerance to this treatment so it will be effective for long-term use. If it works on acne the first time, it will always work.

It is important to realize that adult acne is more common than most think and adult sufferers are not alone, there is a large population of adult acne sufferers. If you are troubled by adult onset acne, first consult your doctor. He or she may have a hormonal adult acne treatment that can help.
